Early Life
Vespucci was born on March 9, 1454. His family was very rich and since Vespucci was a little boy he had always been fascinated by astronomy. He was also fascinated by explorers and voyages and always dreamed of having an adventure of his own. That dream finally came true in 1499, when he finally got to go on an exploration of his own. But before we get into that let me tell you how he grew up. He was taught by his uncle and became a businessman and became very involved in trading. This is how he became familiar in the regards of ships. In 1491 he moved to a city called Seville in Spain where he still remained a businessman and trader. He was most likely present when Columbus returned from his first voyage to the New World. It is certain that Amerigo helped prepare his ship for Columbus's second and third voyages.
